Sustainable futuristic cities at a glance
How I can increase from a 4 to a 5,6 ,or 7 grade level using the rubric below
Scenario: The cities in the future will need to be sustainable and well planned out, as the worlds resources begin to become depleted. When planning out your ideal futuristic city you will need to be looking at better ways to use primary resources such as: Food, Renewable Energies, or the way buildings are built and the materials that they are made of! Also you will be wanting to be able to look for more efficient ways of transport, waste disposal, education, recreation facilities and even government...... (Remember this is futuristic sustainable city, so not all things need to exist fully in reality at this time)
Critereon A : Inquiring And Analyzing
Question (strand) 1. : (Explain here why there is a real need for us to start developing ideas, plans and carry out research on how to better designs the cities that we will living in, in the future. In your answer try to focus on: sustainability issues, improving the life style of people living in a city i.e. parks, schooling, style of government, defense, jobs, transport renewable energy etc.)
We need to start developing ideas and plans for our future cities so that we can start building or developing the important things so that we don't delay the process because we might run out of the resources we need like burning oil or coal , also so that there wont be chaos when the everyday resources run out such as oil, and coal also so that the present countries don't run out of money because of the shortage of resources so they have to find a way to get money for the future if we run of money or resources, also so that we can retain order in the future and plan out our plans ahead off everyone so we can avoid delays and riots from citizens. But if we don't start now there will be chaos and fear everywhere because the country will run out of there main resource which means that they will run out of money so there will be riots and the country might not even exist in the future.

These photos and cities inspired me and they gave me ideas because they let me have great ideas of what is the best way to get money or resources by taking the advantage of the location, also this gave me ideas of where my city should be and how the construction, and the infrastructure and how we will have to start building it and how long it will take and how it might look like and how big it might be this also gave me ideas of vehicles and transportation to get from a place to another in the city or out of the city.
Criterion B: Developing Ideas:
1. Develop a design specification which outlines the success criteria for the design of a solution based on the data collected:
My design specifications will include the following from research carried in Criterion A Inquiry and analyzing.
The kinds of Renewable Energies that I will be using in my futuristic city are:
+ Tidal wave energy I would use because I want to develop my futuristic sustainable city near the sea so it is a good and reliable source of energy.
+ Solar Energy, I would use this because I want to develop my futuristic city near a beach which is usually sunny so the solar energy is a good reliable source of energy and it is renewable.
+ Wind Energy, I would use because I want to develop my futuristic city in front of the sea which means a lot of wind is coming from the sea which is a good thing for my energy because it is wind energy which is a good renewable and reliable source of energy.
+ hydrogen power generators, I would use because it is better than normal gasoline and it is a very light substance and it is not a major pollutant.
+ Thermal (Ground) Because the ground is very warm so it can help us.
+ Bio mass Energy because there are many people and animals so I can use their waste to create energy.
The Kinds of Parks that I will be using in my futuristic city are:
+ Fitness Parks so that my people can stay fit and active and happy.
+ Inclusive Playgrounds for normal and special needs children to be able to play together in.
+ Relaxation Parks (Stress free) so that people can stay in a good mood and keep my people happy.
+ Sport parks so that my people can have fun, stay fit and play sports.
+ Picnic parks (family & friends can sit and enjoy each others company without being hit with a ball or bike etc.
+ Animal Friendly Park so that my peoples pets can have fun so they cant bother my people if they have work and so the people can keep them in a safe place that the pet loves.
The kinds of buildings(shape size, material they are made of etc) that I will have in my futuristic city are:
+ Round in shape and off the ground they will not be on top of each other.
+ Factories will be all together in one part of the city not near the area where people will live.
+ All house will be basically the same, but the people will be able to personalize their homes inside and a little bit on the outside.
+ The buildings will be made from recyclable materials i.e. high quality recyclable plastics etc
The ideal positioning of where I would build my futuristic city:
+ Partly land and partly over the ocean so that it can help me with my tidal energy and hydrogen energy.
+ Near a larger land mass so that I can have a large amount of space to build power plants such as solar power plants and wind power plants.
+ Near a good source of water so I can provide my people with water and use it for hydrogen and tidal power plants.
+ strong tidals waves so that I can use tidal energy for my power plants.
+Near a mountain range that was volcanic once so that I can use its heat for my thermal energy power plants.
The kinds of transportation that I would use in my futuristic city:
+ Electric vehicles of some kind so that my people can be happy that the world isn't going to end because of pollution.
+ Walking so that my people can stay fit and so they don't have to spend money on vehicles.
+ Hydro motor driven Boats so that my people can take advantage of the water and be more ECO.
+ Sail boats so that my people don't have to pay too much money for energy and a engine boat and take advantage of the water and the wind.
+ Mono rail system so that they can use the land to transport to very distant places faster and for cheap.
+ form of mechanical lifts inside the larger building so that people don't get tired taking the stairs for a 100 floors building.

+ Peoples Government so that my people don't cause a riot because they think it isn't fair.
+ Freedom of religions so that everyone can worship their beliefs and be happy.
+ Equal rights for all people so that everyone can be happy and equal and have equal opportunities in their lives.
+ A focus on making families strong so that they can stay strong and together and happy no matter what happens.
+ Law and order (accountability) so that everyone can be happy and so that the city is sustainable and in order.

3. Present the chosen design and outline the reasons for its selection:
I chose this design over the other ones because it has an organized city and it has all the things necessary for a perfect sustainable city and it has entertainment and parks and it has advertisement and many great places for the citizens to live and have fun.

4. Develop accurate planning drawings/diagrams and outline requirements for the creation of the chosen solution:
I have included factories, water centers, wind power plants, houses, apartments, dump power plants, animal parks and quiet parks.
Strand 1. Construct a logical plan, which outlines the efficient use of time and resources, sufficient for peers to be able to follow to create the solution You might like to use SIM CITY on your IPAD, Iphone or Android FOR FREE, OR YOU can do it in paint or can build it physically. Please include photos of Renewable power plants, schools, police station, factory etc.
I first had to download sim city which I used for my chosen design.
First, I had to take good care of the safety of my city by making fire stations for each area.
Then I had to add some entertainment and some more safety and stores so that my people can be happy so I had to add police and some stores and more parks.
In this stage I had already added security and everything was perfect but the citizens needed more space for housing and I upgraded houses and created big apartments for people to live in and have more space.
Strand 2. Demonstrate excellent technical skills when making the solution (no need to write here):
I demonstrated Excellent technical skills by creating a city through an iPad and using an application to create it.
Strand 3. Follow the plan to create the solution, which functions as intended explain changes made to the chosen design and the plan when making the solution.
Alot of things worked as planned such as ensuring the security of the city and the happiness, but what didn't go as planned was putting a hospital because it took too much time to make one also I was going to use sim city 4 on PC but Ended up using sim city bill it on IPad/iPhone.

Strand 1 . Describe testing methods that you would use to see if your Sustainable Futuristic city could work, which generate accurate data, (how would you record your data for example you could record feedback on your city on a table to help measure the success of the solution
I would use natural disasters as a method and maybe a war to see if protection works great and maybe a robbery to test the police or even a riot or revolution to test protection also I would test the amount of deaths to see if many people are dying and the reason of there death.

Strand 2. Explain the success of the solution against the design specification (this is the list of specifications that you need to have to make your city sustainable and futuristic for example solar power, parks or farming etc.)
I made police and firefighters for security of the city and I had made Wind powered plants to keep my city healthy, also There are stores for my people to buy food and what they need. Also, I have parks such as modern parks, quiet parks and animal parks, and family friendly parks where the citizens can have fun and release there stress. Also I have many governmental buildings to keep the city organized and I have factories where things are created for the citizens to build houses and for many other things.
Strand 3. Describe how the solution you came up with could have improved even further.
It improved my city by keeping my people happy and not sad also it kept my city very sustainable and under control, also it stopped people from doing crimes because of my community and it stopped people from dying from crimes or fires in homes, also it helped keeping my city healthy because I didn't have any pollution and a lot of trees which kept my citizens healthy.
Strand 4. Describe the impact of the solution on the client/target audience. (meaning how will this change the way people will live in the future?)
This can change people's lives because it will be a healthy and peaceful life because the safety is controlled, also because there is no pollution which reduces the amount of sickness/disease in the city, also it will make the city eco-friendly by having cars that run on hydrogen which can save people's lives and the earth can last longer because there isn't any pollution, also people wont get injured or die because of natural disasters because it is set up so that it cant get affected by any natural disasters.
